To get to the Gili Islands, you first travel by road to Bangsal Harbour (60 km), in the north-west of Lombok, and take a boat from there (10 to 25 minutes).
By road
All prices are per car, one way to Bangsal Harbour. People and luggage travel together at the same price. The car comfortably fits three passengers with luggage; groups of four to eight take two cars.
- From Lombok Airport: 400k Rp (about 90 min, 60 km)
- From Mataram: 200k Rp (about 50 min, 27 km)
- From Senggigi North area hotels: 200k Rp (about 20–45 min)
- From Kuta: 450k Rp (about 2 h, 75 km)
- From Selong Belanak / Gerupuk: 450k / 500k Rp
- From Senaru: 400k Rp

By boat
From Bangsal Harbour, boats take you to Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air in about 10 to 25 minutes. The prices below are approximate, one way to Gili Trawangan.
From Bangsal
- Public slow boat (leaves when full): approx. 25,000 Rp per person + 10,000 Rp harbour tax.
- Public fast boat: approx. 85,000–100,000 Rp per person, leaves hourly.
- Private charter speedboat: approx. 350,000–550,000 Rp per boat.
From other spots
- Private speedboat from Teluk Nara / Teluk Kode: approx. 400,000–450,000 Rp per boat, usually for up to 4–5 people.
- Charter from Senggigi beach: approx. 1,000,000–1,800,000 Rp per boat. Most travellers find it cheaper to drive to Bangsal or Teluk Nara and cross from there.

Good to know
- Check the boat times before you book the car. Boats don’t run all night, so plan to reach the harbour well before the last departure.
- Travelling heavy? Gili roads are sandy and have no cars, so big bags are awkward there. Leave them with us in Mataram and take only a small bag. Luggage storage in Mataram, from 50k Rp/day.
